Finally this crazy week is over! Phil and I had a nice break last night though and went to the screening of Justice League: DOOM. I thought the movie was great and the fans seemed to really enjoy it. Phil designed it over a year ago - it was awesome to see the characters coming to life! Especially Green Lantern with Nathan Fillions voice! There was a Q and A panel after the movie....

Tim Daly as Superman, Susan Eisenberg as Wonderwoman, Olivia D'Abo as Star Sapphire, Andrea Romano Voice Director,Lauren Montgomery the producer and director, and my favorite, Phil Morris, Martian Manhunter on Smallville, but the voice of Vandal Savage in this movie. Personally, I was more interested in the art and artists as opposed to the voice actors. It seems the audience was too since almost all questions were directed at Lauren. Maybe I would have felt differently if Nathan Fillion had been there.

Afterwards, we grabbed a late dinner with Lauren and Mel at Kate Mantilini around the corner...

it was a fun night! Too bad we didn't see Nathan Fillion at the restaurant.........

a super crazy week is finally coming to a close....just gotta get through a couple of more days then I can finally sleep....on the plane.

 Tonight, Phil and I are going to the the premiere of Justice league: DOOM at the Paley Center. He designed it about a year ago and it's directed by the awesome Lauren Montgomery. I'm excited to see it!

Phil and I went on a long hike yesterday then just took it easy the rest of the night............started packing for NY already actually..planning outfits and whatnot....

I've been wanting this Longchamp Le Pliage tote for a long time now and finally won one on ebay yesterday!

It's the medium size dark grey - perfect for NY!

last night Phil had a bunch of friends over for a video game party after work - it was perfect since I needed all night to sew in my studio....took a big load of Blossom Boxes and Nuno dishes to Hemingway and Pickett this morning...

I went with more neons, florals, and a bit of an 80's vibe for this group...

since it was such a beautiful cloudy sunny/grey day, Phil came with me and we had brunch at a place called Dusty's next door...then a quick stop into Danish Modern LA....

Phil liked that they scatter comic books on all the tables......

then my parents came over for a work day...we trimmed the palm trees and other brush, moved a lot of stones, dug up old plants, my Mom killed a lizard, made an awesome miso soup (not using the lizard)
then we all hung out by the fire pit and almost got attacked by a bat.......a fun full day!

at the worst you'll see nobody cares............

what thrift stores are for..........

a 3XL brand new muumuu from Hawaii.......I'll use it for the fabric....and at $3 for a solid 3 yards of good quality rayon...pretty good deal!

 

a silk/cashmere scarf in the perfect blushy-nude....the exact color of my favorite Tarte Blush!

and of course, a Martika album......I wish it were "Toy Soldiers" but beggars can't be choosers.....

I got in 4 hours of work in my studio tonight! Toby at Hemingway and Pickett wants more Blossom Boxes and Nuno Dishes...I want to get them to him early Saturday before the Valentine shopping stampede starts.................

Went on a fun new hike with Joaquim and Sharon this weekend - up in the Burbank Hills.......did more work in the backyard...took a bunch of cuttings from my own succulents to propagate. This wire shelf is good for drying them out a bit before planting.....

off to water my tomatoes............
