ok I make it short........

Christmas seemed to go by in a flash....lots of visiting family and friends, Sharon came back safely from the Amazing Race, awesome Christmas Eve dinner at my parents, Christmas day relaxing with mimosas and eating our weight in veggie tamales....

wrapping was so much more fun this year with all vintage materials....

experimenting with some blueberry infused vodka.....in a repurposed bourbon bottle....

a bulb my mom gave me is thriving! in a jar with rocks I brought home from the beach in Santa Barbara.....

tearing through my Grandpa's butterdrop cookies ( made by Mom every Christmas).....

and you're never too old to get toys for Christmas!

off to put the tree on the curb...I'm ready for the New Year!

I love my parents tree this year...they went super retro with an aluminum and tinsel tree from the 40's! It's the sparkliest thing ever!

the finished album for my Grandma...I made a little bag for it too...

and the coolest gloves my reps gave to me.....olive green Christopher Fischer cashmere.........

with these nifty little cutouts for touchscreen capabilities....very handy when walking around NY in February trying to find a restaurant......

Off to clean the house and get it ready for Christmas!!

putting together a photo album for my grandma for Christmas...a lot of fun memories.....

this photo used up all my magenta ink though, and I don't think it was the bougainvillea.......

finally got around to wrapping some presents tonight.....I ebayed some vintage tissue paper a while back - but it's thicker than the ones they make now...it's almost as thick as wrapping paper...

my favorite one.....hot pink poinsettia and gold candles!

also made some shoe bags for my reps as presents.... they opened them already and one of them ordered 3 sets from me to give her friends!

off to watch some Beyond Scared Straight.........

 

yesterday....................

yesterday my Bachan turned 92!

yesterday Phil and I dropped some more of my Blossom Boxes to Hemingway and Pickett and then headed off to Little Tokyo to do some shopping.....

it was gloomy and drizzly all day - Phil in his new jacket my Mom and I got him last week.....we had a couple of siphoned coffees at Demitasse to warm us up........

then Paul met us for lunch - we walked to the ramen place in the shopping center, went to Kinokuniya, and just took a bunch of pics of the sky........

since Paul is moving to NY in a couple of weeks, Phil wanted to take him out for a drink - we tried Seven Grand and The Library Bar, both open at 7p and it was only 4:30p....off to the rooftop of The Standard......

it was weirdly warm and drizzly with the perfect views and firepits....we ordered lobster corndogs, wild mushroom taquitos, and fries...........

called it an early night, then Phil and I came home and watched Kick-Ass for the first time.......

a weary world rejoices..........................

finally the end of a  long week!  Phil and I took my parents to see The Canadian Tenors the other night...we had so much fun!

Phil and my Dad, both in their Richard Lim bespoke suits........

off to sew some more things for Hemingway and Pickett.......they've sold half my stuff so far!

went on a long walk yesterday, stopped into It's a Wrap, grabbed some green tea lattes, and just tried to appreciate the chilly weather and the beautiful light for as long as we could...........

my Mom and I took Momo shopping yesterday - the craziness of Santa Monica Place made Momo ask us to take her to the "small mall" Westside Pavillion.....

we had fun shopping for clothes for Uncle Phil and my Bro, watching live carolers, eating sorbet......

then we picked up my Dad and went to Curry House for dinner...Mari and Koto met us there....I also grabbed a bunch of on sale Japanese magazines at Asahiya......

so much fun!

Phil and I went to 4 different CVS's the other day to find the elusive Revlon Lip Butters...more like he humored my obessive need to hunt them down........

he was so happy when we finally found "Peach Parfait", the main one I was looking for...I got a couple for my Mom too...

and my Satsumas are blooming!!

finally able to spend some time in the backyard and assess the damage from the windstorm....nothing crazy, just one broken pot. But a ton of leaves to rake up and a lot of weeding.  I was surprised these guys didn't blow away..........
