got this awesome paisley brooch at the vintage sale on Sunday...the woman said she had bought this with the Mad Men stylist in mind...but they weren't buying right now so we snapped it up....

and this cute little Hawaiian shirt....it's tapa cloth with an olive green and neon pink bamboo print!! It looks like something Chozen would have worn in Karate Kid II......

and this cool little muumuu with a Hawaiian island print........

and my Mom got an awesome Vera scarf in a palette of island blues.............

my Mom and I had a fun Mother's Day full of shopping.....the best part was we happened upon an awesome vintage sale this woman was having at her house in Crescent Heights......

she had tons of stuff and sells to designers and stylists from shows like Mad Men......we got some cool things but my regular camera is not uploading my photos right now for some reason....I'll post later...

we got some good tile ideas at Heath Ceramics......

and some awesome desserts at Jin Patisserie on Abbott Kinney........

they got a little thrashed since we carried them around to every store with us...but they still tasted great!

and when we went to Nordstrom to get Mari some Tom's for her birthday today (Happy Birthday Mari!)

we saw these awesome lights that I think would look great in my studio...they're called scraplights by Greypants............

overnight I have become obsessed with rose gold.....

it started with the Sam Edelman shoes which I saw in person for the first time the other day...I stared at their spiked, studded, crystallized, awesomeness til my eyes hurt.  the saleswoman must have thought I was nuts...oh well...

rain is coming back to LA! gotta go prep the backyard.....

Last week I was so busy with work, I assumed the Marni and H&M collaboration that I had been eagerly awaiting for the last 6 months would just slip through my fingers.......but my Mom was awesome enough to go to the Beverly Center early in the morning, stand in a long line (good thing she has a Kindle and we got her into The Hunger Games Trilogy), get a wristband, and with the 20 minutes her group was given to shop, get me the one thing I wanted in the entire collection.......the striped knit leggings! The last one left in my size!

my favorite detail is the cuff....a simple but impactful idea.......love the garment bag too!

I sent my Mom some lookbook photos too so she would know exactly what they looked like - she was armed and ready......

by 11:30am, all H&M's across the country were pretty much sold out of the collection.....best Mom ever!

 

 

sick day........

I was laid out sick in bed all of yesterday - fever, chills, body aches...feeling much better today but took off from work....slept most of the day today ...all I felt like doing was Polyvore-ing....

waiting for our Granville takeout to arrive, then we're gonna finish watching Hugo.....
