roundabout..............

some new beads and things.....I'm into studding again!

and I'm loving these flocked peacock blue beads!!! and the faux ivory with olive and red etching....

and my Black Prince tomatoes are finally ready to try............

made my own rose water today!  I  looked up a tutorial on You Tube....I picked a ton of roses from the front yard............

washed all the petals off in a collander........

it yielded a huge basketful.....

I put them in a pot with filtered water, and a bowl (on top of a brick) to catch the distilled water............

inverted the pot lid...and all the steam collected and ran into the bowl..........ice helps the moisture collect

and after about an hour - I got this.....going to mix it with some witch hazel and use it as a face mist....

it's no Santa Maria Novella but it'll do...............

 

color theory...........

a palette of neon chartreuse seedums............they look yellow in the photo though.....

work in process on my flourescent shopping cart.....still need a couple more coats.....

can't wait for the three day weekend coming up!!

blame it on the rain...................

spent all day in the garden today - the rain washed everything clean.....I never thought I would have to buy ladybugs, but my tomatoes are being attacked and I haven't seen a single ladybug nearby....so we went and got a container...

we'll release them in the evening...they don't fly at night so hopefully they will make their homes on our plants...

the zucchini and peppers are already starting!

I potted one of the aloe and added some echeveria and blooming succulents......hopefully it will take root....

my Mom gave me this menagerie of mint! It's for muddling into mint juleps come Kentucky Derby time...there's Spearmint, Chocolate, Apple, and Pineapple mints........

Zero kept me company the whole day...with all the toys we buy her, sometimes all she wants is a good old fashioned twig.....

in blackest night................

my red peppers are starting to grow! I planted seeds that I saved from a red pepper I had gotten from the market...it was taking a long time and I didn't think they were going to happen...but they're sprouting!

and the Satsumas are exploding too!

they're all about the size of grapes...............

on and on til the pm dawn....

finally lit our "popcorn" tree with all the string lights I bought on sale after Christmas...

they really give off A LOT of light....can't wait to do the other trees,,,,,,,

Went on a fun new hike with Joaquim and Sharon this weekend - up in the Burbank Hills.......did more work in the backyard...took a bunch of cuttings from my own succulents to propagate. This wire shelf is good for drying them out a bit before planting.....

off to water my tomatoes............
